Android Income Report #15: July 12

Posted by on 2012/11/04

July is over and so are August, September and October. A lot of you asked me whether this series would be continued or not. Yes, it will be. But in order to catch up I will shorten the August-to-October reports so that they contain just the essential information, not the comments surrounding it (no blabla, just numbers).

If you are new to this series, let me explain it to you: Since Android is an open platform, I decided to be open about the income I’m making with my private Android apps too. In the last report I aimed to reach $2,000 for the last month. You will see if it worked out.

For all income reports, please click here.

Which Apps?

3D Invaders – about 277,000 installs (+10k),

AL Voice Recorder – about 845,000 installs (+30k),

AL Voice Recorder Ad Free – 1,177 installs (+44),

SmsToSpeech full – 785 installs (+7),

About 40,000 new downloads in total.

Here are some statistics from the two advertising networks I’m using, AdMob and Madvertise. Please read the second income report for an explanation of the following numbers.

What’s next?

I didn’t reach my last month’s goal, so, again, it will be $2,000 for the month of July. As I said, no blabla.

    Hi Johannes,
thanks for sharing the next report with us. Unfortunately the revenues of my apps were also decreasing in the last months.
Do you think that revenues will become better in the future, or does the android system already passed its zenith?

Best wishes and have a nice day,
    Maximilian

      Hi Maximilian,

the Android ecosystem is undoubtedly still growing. It’s by far not as easy to make decent money now compared to how it was two or three years ago since the Play Store is much more flooded. But if you are able to produce an app that gets all the attention needed, it is probably also possible to make way more money than two or three years ago, simply because there are so many more users.
It probably just depends on your app, your strategy, your implementation and your luck.

      Best regards
      Johannes

Do you have any experience with Ad Exchanges companies such us Inneractive, Mobclix,…etc?

      Hi Pedja,

      thank you.
I used Mobclix some time ago and my experiences weren’t good. But this was back in 2010/11 so things may have changed.

      Best regards
      Johannes

After several weeks of research, yesterday I finally add ads on my app.
Your blog have inspired me and show me numbers in this world of very hard-to-get REAL experiences on Ads over mobile platforms.

Thank you very very much, and please keep updating this post series, beacause it is very interesting!!

    Thank you from Argentina!
