Android Income Report #16: August 12

Here’s August’s report.

If you are new to this series, let me explain it to you: Since Android is an open platform, I decided to be open about the income I’m making with my private Android apps too. In the last report I aimed to reach $2,000 for the last month. You will see if it worked out.

  1. App development has interested me for a while and this past year I’ve been educating myself about Android and iOS apps. I have a few questions for you. If you wrote about this before you can just say that and I’ll search the blog more or you can post links if they’re convenient (I don’t want to help create more work for you!)

Why did you decide to drop the other advertisers and go with only these two for now?
When you display the ads in your apps, are you choosing one app and displaying one ad network in that app, or are you some how rotating and displaying both ad networks in rotation in the single app?

Your blog has really opened my eyes, and I hope you reach your $2000 goal in the upcoming months!

  2. “Total: ~$926.59.82 (+$20.77)”

Is that the total of that month or the sum total upto that month???

I’m getting inspired if its the former.

  3. Also, would you like to work on an app idea? It’s a game.

You”ll have to split the profits 20-90 after Google takes it’s cut.
What say? If you’re interested, holler back. If you share the code, or atleast tell me how you’re doing this and that. I need to learn game development from a live tutor.

    • I do consultancy only publicly on my blog and in forums or on a hourly or daily payment base, no stake holding.

There are a lot of good tutors on the game development forums, for example on those of Libgdx or AndEngine.

      Best regards and good luck
      Johannes

  4. Hi,

How do you get so many clicks?

  5. Nice figures.

One thing I can think of is broadening your type of apps a bit. I currently make almost 20k a month, but I tend to use some different strategies.

Check out my blog at http://www.themobilethinker.com if you’re interested!

    Good luck!
